    8v GS750 gearbox 1st gear oiling mod???

http://youtu.be/XMaK_7PotD4 (48 seconds or so in)

Has anyone ever heard of this mod to the first gear oiler passage in the gearboxes of the early 8v gs750 engines?? This video is describing how to mod a gs750 transmission to work in a gt750, & points out at 48 seconds or do in the downfall of the 750 gearbox & how to fix it by opening up an oil passage larger.

This is apparently common. Luckily mine seems tight, but I am considering opening up the oil hole in mine while its apart...

      Why?

      Do they fail?

Never heard of it. Maybe they fail in GT 750s because there's no pumped oil?

That's probably right - there's an awful lot of oil flying around in the GS cases whereas in the waterbus there is only what gets picked up by the bigger gears.
I remember the TR750 had gearbox problems until they learned to overfill it.
