Woah, bought a bike, and the valves are in spec

Didn't see that coming; it's almost perfect.

Anywhere from exactly .002" to .004-.005" (5 thou wouldn't fit).

I thought all previous owners were out to get us by not adjusting valves properly?

The 4-5 thousandths valves might explain the valve noise. But this is on a cold engine, so it's probably in spec when warm.

I had one once that was adjusted correctly. One in about 50 or so.
It does happen. Just bought another that may be, haven't looked inside yet. Both of these bikes were previously owned by GSR members.

I can't remember ever buying a GS and finding the valves were all in spec. LOL

A couple of them are pushing it, such as 4+ thousandths of an inch (the manual calls for 1-3 thou).

Leave them where they are, your bike will thank you for it.
