    Possible clutch issue with GS1000G

Yesterday I posted about looking at a 1980 GS1000 shaftie for $500. I was expecting delivery this morning, but the seller called with a problem. He says the clutch cable feels loose, and the bike stalls when he drops it in gear. Is that any reason for concern, or is a simple clutch adjustment the likely culprit....bike was running fine for him previously, and shifting well but he hadn't run it in 2-3 mos. The motor runs good and sound good. What are the odds that it's a bad tranny or bad clutch? How involved is a total clutch rebuild?

    Need advice asap!!

sounds like a broken clutch cable.
    tranny is fine.

It's $500, this is not an issue at that price. Easy fix.
