    clutch slipping after cable change

    Hi All,
I looked it up in the forum but didn't find a solution.

On my 1978 gs750E, the clutch cable broke. I replaced it following basscliff's tutorial.

    The clutch is slipping since.

I tried several cable length configurations with the adjustment screws at the ends of the cable, but even with a lot of slack, the clutch slips now and I feel I need to stay at or below 3k rpm.

    any ideas?
any links to a thread the same?

    Many thanks indeed
I promise to post the solution when we find it like any decent poster of course

(PS: changed from twin section to inline 4 section)

    worm gear!
unhook your cable at the handlebar.
remove small cover on the sprocket cover.
loosen lock nut and run center adjuster screw in till lightly seated then back out 1/2 turn.
jam nut down without screw turning.
    install cable and adjust accordingly.

      Thanks blowerbike. It works.
      Happiness is a working bike.

Basscliff, may I suggest you indulgently actualize your tutorial and add blowerbike's recommendation in step 12:
"Set adjustment screws to the desired tightness. Refer to your owner’s manual for the correct setting. Tighten the nuts at both ends so that everything stays put. For some (earlier) models you will have to also adjust center adjuster screw."

Thank you all guys. I tend to let my clymer sit and only run the resources, while it was all in there, gs750 fours 77-82, pages 175 and 25

As my grandmother used to say RTFM.
