    Falicon clutch basket

Picked up a Falicon clutch basket off of E-Bay. I didnt look very closely at the basket pictures. When I received it,there were heavy wear/chatter marks from the plates in the basket "fingers". What problems will this create? The seller was really cool about it when I contacted him with my concerns.Willing to take it back or work out some type of trade for more parts. Should I keep it and touch up the basket or return it? Paid $150 for it. I am gathering parts for a new motor in the future, probably wont be heavily modded(ya right!!!) so I should get a better basket. Thoughts?

Typically causes the clutch plates to hang and not allow the clutch to release. Others with more experience can chime in. Might want to post some pics and show us just how bad it is.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

that's not a falicon basket and i seen it was beat to death...i couldn't believe people started bidding on it and ran the price that high.
falicon always balances there baskets..that one didn't have any balance marks i could see.
and the one on ebay right now is a MUCH nicer basket.
sorry you bought a shlter...good luck.

The guy said he would take it back.So I may be out shipping.Lesson learned. I will check the original listing,if it is described as a Falicon, and it is not,he may even pay shipping back to help his rating. Is the one on E-bay now a Falicon? Does it make that much difference not to be balanced if I am Not running big HP through it? Whats a good price? Member have one they want to part with?

when small shops do an HD backing plate most if not all didn't balance because lack of equipment.
i never balanced any of the baskets i did...never felt or had a problem.
falicon makes the backing plates kits so your seller if half right.
the one for auction right now is another small shop/individual modified basket plus the weld isn't really flowed out nicely.
it is in better shape than the one you have though.

I don't balance the hubs I build & have never had an issue with any. I have kits in stock & can build you one if you want a new build.

I have a Falicon clutch basket. If you have a GS1000 2V they rework your clutch basket: Disassemble replace the backing plate, install HD springs, weld it up & balance it
