oil leak

Bike developed a leak, after I checked valves clearences;
It squirts oil from this area:

What could be the problem? It never leaked oil, from there or elsewere.

Most likely the oil is just running down from the valve cover gasket.

Degrease the engine really well, let it dry, then start it up while watching for the source of the leak. Some people like to spray foot powder or similar on the leak area since it helps show the source of the leak quite dramatically. Key thing is to clean the engine first and then watch closely on the next startup.

OK, I have drained the old(ish) oil and will put new one in;
I am almost shure it's not seeping trough two poor mated surfaces (valve cover), rather then is finding it's way out of the engine with a bit of pressurization, cause it makes a pool in no time.

Did you put on a new valve cover gasket and clean all the old gasket pieces off the surfaces of cylinder head and valve cover?

You might also want to check the area where the tachometer cable connects. Very common to have an oil leak in that area. Oil tends to migrate down from where it's actually leaking. Do as suggested and clean the area very well. Put some baby powder or spray foot powder all over the area suspected and above. Look for the FIRST sign of oil. That's where the oil is leaking.

Wow...that's what you call a major oil leak for sure. Now what could have happened while doing a simple valve shim job to cause that???? I really can't begin to guess, not with that type of oil loss..

At least I know valves are in spec. and an exhaust clamp thread has been "helycoiled"... but keep coming with suggestions.

Maybe you drilled to deep with that helicoil.

It wasn't me who helicoiled the clamp, in actual fact I would never helicoil something which is likely to be removed often; and by the way is the #2 exhaust, on the right of where the leak seems to be coming from.
As anybody gor a pic of the inside of the area interested, without cammes and chain?

its not rocket scientist work to realize rocker cover gasket is leaking into centre of the head then oil flows out the air passage at the front
