    Valve stem seals

    1981 GS650GL, stock.

Are the exhaust and intake valve stem seals the same part? The Z1 site only has one type and there is no indication of exhaust or intake. Just want to be sure before I order.

    Thanks.

Is there any good documentation online? I checked BikeCliffs website and didn't see anything.

I thought my smokey exhaust was from overfilling my oil, but I've ridden 300km since I corrected it and I'm still getting smoke at startup. Oil consumption is up too. Compression is good so I'm leaning toward the valve guide seals, as was suggested by a few members. Could overfilling the oil cause the seals to fail? I'm just surprised at the coincidence.

          Cheers!
