Hard finding neutral
Normal for the GS850's? I find myself at a stop tapping down a couple times, and bringing the shifter back up for neutral but I almost never find it on a stop.Tags: None

Have you got the original shifter and is it tight on the splines?
Yesterday on a ride out I met two guys who invited me to their home. They have two 850s, one is a basket case. As we swapped ideas they pointed out I had the wrong shifter and it was loose. They gave me one from the basket and it made a hell of a difference finding neutral.97 R1100R

I don't have any problem finding neutral. Then again, I rarely use it. When I am stopped in traffic, I keep the bike in first, with the clutch in. I keep watch in the mirrors, as well as to the front and sides, and have at least two escape routes planned ahead of time.
IMHO, if you keep it in neutral when stopped in traffic, you are asking for trouble.

I'll keep that in mind, I keep my eyes on the mirrors to see whats coming up behind me, just absolutely have to especially in NJ

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
