    Rear wheel rubber bushings

    Is there a trick to installing the "cush drive" rubber bushings in a shaftie rear wheel? I've removed my old ones to powdercoat the wheel, and bought a new set. The new ones are a considerable amount larger in the o.d. The old ones are still a snug fit and not hard or cracked at all, so I might re-use them. Did Parts Outlaw send me the wrong size, or could my old ones have really shrunk that much?
    Anyone ever install new ones?

    I installed new ones on my 750, they were a bit tighter though not overly so. I applied a wee bit of teflon on the nipple and sides and it locked in just fine.

    Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

      I wonder if they are a different size for the chain drive models. Maybe that's what they sent you?

          That's the same number on the bag the parts came in. I'm going to try to press them in tomorrow with a home made setup. We'll see how it goes.

              Not me; they're very long-lived. Istr somebody heating the wheel and freezing the rubbers.

                Just used a hammer end and pushed them in. No sweat. My old ones were still good, though at the time I was freshening up all the rubber stuff on the bike, I said might as well.

                  These were tight. I did manage to press them in with some scrap pieces of wood and a few bolts. A bit tricky, but it worked!
