Does anybody know if the GS750 (8V head) starter clutch and genny will be strong enough to turn over a GS1000 (8V head) engine, which has been bored to a 1100cc ?

should be ok, part number for complete starter clutch is different between the 750 and 1000 but they both use the same rollers and springs. i reckon it would be ok1978 GS1085.

Cheers, I'm asking this because I'm building a tuned GS1000 motor and as I did not have a genny cover I got one off e*ay and when it came it was the GS750 and had the starter clutch and genny in it. I've tried the GS1000 starter clutch in the cover and the 1000 one is much bigger so will not fit (that's how I know it's the GS750 one). Yes, the cover does fit the GS1000 engine.Comment
