Secondary drive

Each time I drain the oil out of the secondary drive on my 1979 GS850 it is nearly yellow in color. The bike is kept indoors and only taken out in fine weather. Any idea what the problem might be.

Seems to be a common issue although I would describe mine as more coffee coloured. It's getting better with each change. Initially I put this down to PO neglect. Where is the vent drain tube at? Does the bike get cold in Winter and could it be condensation inside the box?

Found the problem. There is a small breather pipe coming from the top of the case and goes into a hole under the starter. This was blocked.
