Clutch Recommendations?

I've got an 82 GS1100EZ, clutch has been slipping at 6-7k for about two months, pretty sure it's wearing down, as it's been 15 years of hard riding since it's last replacement. I've heard a few disaster stories about Barnett Clutches (which is what the PO put in my bike), my father had one in his old Kawasaki H1 500 triple and it exploded, caused a whole bunch of engine damage, darn shame, that's one nice ass bike. Anyway, I've been looking around, My father currently has an EBC Kevlar clutch in his bike, it's light as a feather, and I've heard only good things about it. The only issue I have with that, is the hard, defined grab. I'm thinking about going with an APE clutch kit, with heavy duty springs and steel plates. Let me know what you have in your bike, pros and cons, and if you'd recommend it or not.

Stock or FBG (fast by gast) clutch fibers are favored. http://www.fastbygast.com/Catagories...iberplates.htm The aftermarket kits tend to chew up the baskets pretty bad. I like to mix HD springs and stock half and half. Check your steel plates for glazing/ wear before you replace.

NEVER use ANY clutch advertised as an "Extra Plate" kit!!! Stock Suzuki or the FBG fibers are the best for a street bike. If it still slips, use 3 stock clutch springs along with 3 of the heavier EBC springs.

Take it apart and check the inner and outer hubs 1st. Barnetts are known to chew these up and cause ridges that result in a whole lot more

Stock fibers and stock springs will work with any stock bike.

As you see a couple of posts before this, that is even supported by RapidRay, and he builds some FAST bikes.
