I do not know what bike. If it was made in the USA the thread could be NTP ( national pipe thread) my guess is that it is BSP (British standard pipe) both are tapered thread, BSP was used in many countries in manufacture.
The threads are not a million miles apart but not the same.
it could be off an gs850 it's roughly the same shape as the cover on the oil pressure switch.

it was removed from a 79 GS750 motor and is the same shape/ fitment as most GS oil pressure switch covers. I know the 750 didn't come with a cooler as standard but its definately an original part so it came off a GS of some sort. Being OEM i was thinking the fittings might be metric but i could be wrong.

        Japanese Tapered Pipe Thread
The Japanese tapered pipe thread connector is identical to and fully interchangeable with the BSPT (tapered) connector. The Japanese connector does not have a 30° Flare, and will not mate with
the BSPP female. The threads conform to JIS B 0203, which are the same as BSPT threads.

I have two of them. They came with Lockhart oil coolers. I have one on my 1000ST I bought the cooler, A Lockhart Model 700 in 1982. I recently bought a Lockhart 500 and it also had an adapter with it. I have no idea what the thread size is; I took it to the local performance auto shop and had them fitted. That was a long time ago...

Do you want to sell it??

Thanks for that info Rudy, no i dont want to sell it, i just got it!
The pipe fittings are for 10mm I/D hose, i want to change them to 13mm/1/2" ID hose.

You can try to find larger fittings but there is only so much meat on the adapter, and unless the passages in the adapter support the larger size you won't gain any extra flow.

just did a search and found this thread from 2013.

They are indeed 1/4" NPT fittings.

I was surprised that the ID of the outlet is only 7.3mm. I would think that would be very restrictive on flow, especially as it is going on a GS1000 motor with 750 high flow oil pump gears.
However, i guess if that is what Lockhart fitted then the size must be right!

The fittings on mine appear to be the same size as your pic and I never had any problems with oil flow. I even spliced in a "T" for the oil temp sending unit.

yeah i am guessing it will be ok, just means i will have to change the fittings on the cooler now as i have adapters for 1/2" pipe on it.
                      Not a problem!

One of the key things with installing an oil cooler adapter is to make sure the extension piece pick up tube is sealed down tight over the oil feed port inside the oil distribution cavity in the engine. You need to grab 100% of the oil flow coming up from the pump and divert it over to the cooler. I believe there is supposed to be a rubber seal on the end of the pickup tube for that adapter. Failing to gather all the oil flow will result in your oil pressure light flickering and only minimal flow of oil through the cooler.

The rubber seal is present, and in good condition so that should not be a problem
