Weisco 73.5 upgrade question
I have an opportunity to pick up an old stock 73.5 weisco engine kit for my 78 1000. Everything looks ok with the exception that I might need to by another head gasket. The thing I'm worried about though is the fact that I like to tour with 78. Would this upgrade change my ability to do 500 mile days? I have an oil cooler on the bike already for those that don't already know. Looking on Dynoman it says I only need to bore and not resleve, I'm guessing thats right.Rob

The liners get thin at 73.5mm. Jay from APE mentioned here one time that it's doable, but they don't stock that kit and prefer to sell the 73mm version.Ed

Yes it looks like it would be pushing things a bit too much. Doing some more reading it looks likethe 73.5 kit would be best placed into an 1100G top end which would fit onto the 1000.Rob
