Yes it is easy - but for me it is a tedious job. When ever the nut gets tightened the gap changes - yes I hold the stud with the screwdriver. I tire of the trial/error.

I would say no. Valve clearances change on miles and heat cycles, not just time. The more you fiddle with something the more chances to cause a problem. If it an't broke don't fix it. etc.

You'll get it eventually. It's called aiming to miss.

true if my past was my future - more miles expected and doing the valve lapping as mentioned in my other thread so will be adjusting them in the near future.

re: other tools mentioned - Those other ones are cute (small) I'm hoping the levers on the ones I picked will be nice to use as I don't need to add a loose wrench to use them
