Is this a serious question? Can't see the photo for crap. It looks like you used a zippo for lighting.Ed

Or this? Its black and it shows dark in every light I've tried.1468289208195.jpg
This is the part that looks the most suspect to me. It would only bubble up the overflow when it was freshly hot after a bossted run. I know its not a gs, but theres alot of knowledge here and Im hoping for some educated feedback.

I cant post a big pic. Dont know why. Its not a critical issue. I was just curious. My phone lets me enlarge the lics so I can see them clear as day. I know most home computers wont allow that. No biggie. Well the answer is yes, a couple of bad spots. I've worked on Hyabusas and late GSXR1000's too so I've noted a couple of things.
First, the busa block can warp - I'd imagine boosted could well be worse. Check it. The 1000's where the block and case are in one casting don't do it.
Second - I've struck one very slightly bent Busa head...again, check it...
What are you torquing the head down to ? Are you lubing the head bolts ?
It's unfortunate that there is so little material between the bores that O ringing them probably isn't possible.

Thanks Greg T. They were torqued to 70 lbs. It did make it 25k miles so I'm not complaining. I just saw alot of shiny, bare steel on the gasket and got to wondering what's normal and what's bad as far as old head gaskets. It was just beginning to lose coolant. I see a large non black area in front of number 3. I'm guessing that's where to coolant was getting in. It also had 100,150,100,150 psi, which is odd. I expected the low readings would be in adjacent holes. It ran great?Last edited by turbojonn; 07-12-2016, 10:39 AM.1981 GS 1100e turbo, 83 motor, turbo pistons, new head, new turbo, backed and welded clutch basket, Dyna S ignition, cbr 929 front end, gsxr 750 rear end with 190 tire, all carbon fiber covered bodywork.

OP, your problem with the pictures is it looks like you are using a camera flash and it is giving glare off the shiny parts of the gasket. What you want is to use bright lighting like halogen work lights or sunshine outdoors (ambient light is the best for this), then shoot the pics with the flash turned off. Your background should be a medium shade, not something like white, so that the picture doesn't get underexposed because of a bright background.
