    Found the culprit

My bike has been running great all season until the other night on my way home from work. In stop and go traffic, I started hearing a clinking sound, like I picked up a screw or something then it got worse.. like I lost a U joint... then it went away... rode the bike the next day not a trace of an issue... decided to inspect the shafting bits... the problem presented itself rather quickly... one of these things isn't like the other.

So my bike is lighter now and should go faster right????

Looks to me like there are a few of the others riding the locktab on the point of the hex.

      Nope.

With all the grease and gunk holding all the ground-off bits, everything is still there and it still weighs the same.
