gs1000 cam chain lengths, new versus worn

all the manuals have the lengths that our cam chains are beyond it in, but i would like to know what the new length is so i can see how worn the chain i have is, it's not going to do a million miles but will throw a knew one if needed, any one got the new length please?

Most chain is made to industry standards pitch length as in #25, #40, etc. chain. I would think the timing chain is not different though there are maybe metric and ANSI standards.

A Machinery's Handbook lists common ANSI Roller Chain dimensions for roller chains. Check the web or library. I don't recall if the number is stamped on a OEM and after market chains.
