Awww... Come on. Can't ride it? I lived in Rochester NY and when things got cold and icy, we just put steel studs in the tires and kept on truckin.

I think what you read was the re-use of the valve cover gasket, which is done often. Always get a new OEM head or base gasket.

Yeah I just decided to roll the dice on the head gasket... was trying to save $100
. I also read a bit on guys re-using them... but yes it the best idea to just change it.
Hopefully it holds.
