2v and 4v parts interchange

ok so this may seem like a duh type question to many but I have to ask what all will interchange between the 2 valve engines and first gen 4 valve engines. I have to ask because in all the pictures I see of the early 4v the lower cases look almost identical to my 2v. I'm sure this has been answered here before but I haven't had any luck finding the answer.

Varys a lot from model to model and lots of parts are scattered about across them

for example - chunks of the 4V gearbox/transmission are direct swaps -

I am pretty sure you can use the same oil in both of them.

Thats what i thought, i had to ask because they just look so similar
