Swingarm without a grease fitting???
I just removed and cleaned the swingarm on my 1978 GS750E and found that it does not have a grease fitting in it. (of course, the bearings are toast!) Anyone ever seen one without a grease fitting? The swingarm looks like it is the stock swingarm, as nothing on this bike looks to be changed from stock.

When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Don't know about your model, but my 82 850L has no grease fitting either.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

I was looking at the parts diagram on Parts Outlaw and it shows a grease fitting in the 1978 GS750 swingarm. I am positive the bike I had in 1980 had one because I remember having to lay on the driveway to get to it! i also had one break off once and it was a PITA to replace on the bike.Ron

Sure enough, the fishe does show a fitting. That model bike seems to be the rare exception. It wouldn't surprise me if Suzuki dropped it as a running change because most other GS biked don't have that feature.Ed

Maybe that's it! Now I gotta decide if I want one or not. The old bearings just fell apart when I took the swingarm out. I knew they were bad since I had about 1/4" of side-to-side "play" in the rear tire. Made for an interesting ride!!!Ron

Fit your own grease nipple, now you have the Swing arm out. Just drill a hole in the bottom and tap it for a 6mm nipple, that's what I did for my 79 gs1000. My 77 gs750 had one fitted already. My bikes 79 GS1000 1085 checked and approved by stator the GSR mascot :eagerness: and 77 GS750 with 850 top end, GS850g, and my eldest sons 78 GS550, youngest sons GS125.
