Clutch question
82' 850 that I have put somewhere over 20,000 miles on and I do use it as a work horse. My quesrion is under high acceleration when shifting gears I'll hit a gear sometimes 3rd sometimes 4th, where it doesn't feel like it's in gear. My thought is the clutch maybe starting to go? Another issue might be related is a couple of times when the neutral light is on [should be in neutral) I let go of the clutch and the bike is still in gear and stalls. I am hoping this is all just a sign the clutch is going and I'll change the clutch if not I need to finish the second bike or steal the engine. Any help would be great. ThanksTags: None

Cable was replaced early last year and is in good adjustment. So far this the slipping ( I guess you would call it slipping) only happens under hard acceleration, which I wouldn't normally do but as I have moved to south Florida seems to be a necessity if you want to drive during the day.

OK. Then I would replace the springs. You'll need a cover gasket too. Possible hub nut and a socket (maybe an impact gun) to get it off, and back on, if you want to remove the hub and have a look at the fibre plates. Not that difficult and you have several experts right here at your finger tips if you get stuck.
