    oil leak under crankcase

I've got an small oil leak under the crankcase that I'd like to fix. It seems to be coming from a nut. Can I just remove it, seal it with something and replace the nut? I tried to tighten it but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I checked the area around it for oil but there didn't seem to be any oil there, just dripping from the nut. I'm sort of surprised it is leaking. There doesn't seem to be a rubber oil ring or gasket under the nut so it does seem like this is a potential for a leak. Anybody run into this?

An overall picture to get an idea of where it is.

Hmm, I seem to be dyslexic. It is the left side, not the right.

Is the secondary trans overfilled with oil?

No it is not. The nut was just a bit loose. I didn't notice that the head of the screw was next to the secondary drive fill hole (I thought it was inside someplace). I just tightened it up and now it seems to be fine.

          Thanks for checking.
