    1982 GS750T with 1981 GS850GL jugs and head?

Hey guys, my uncle and I recently came across 2 project bikes. A 1982 GS750T, and a 1981 GS850GL. The engine on the 750 has been disassembled, and the jugs and head are junk, and were left out to weather. The frame on the 850 has been the subject of a poor attempt of making a bobber, but the engine is good, and complete. What's stopping me from running the 850 in the 750 frame is obviously chain vs shaft.

I was curious if I can run the jugs and head off the 850 on the 750 crank case, so after a little research, I'm still scratching my head. I understand the jugs may require some trimming, but the biggest question comes down to the head. Some had mentioned issues running jugs from an 8 valve engine with a 16 valve head, but if I'm swapping the jugs and head from the 850, does it matter if the bottom end was 16 valve? Has anyone done something like this?

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Chris

    No, sorry, can't do it.

The 850 jugs will not fit on the 16-valve 750 cases, which started with the 1980 models. The bolt spacing is all wrong.
