Could dirt/grim,etc. pass from carb to engine because of them, or am I ok just to clean carbs and go? I do plan on doing a compression test, and change oil. Anything I should also do that I am missing? And I will replace boots ofcourse. Thanks in advance.

could anything get into my engine from bad boot on carb?
Like title mentions, I went on a 424 mile round trip. A few days after returning home, I noticed bad cracks in the rubber boots going from air box to carbs.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
