    engine swap, mount positions

    Hi wonder wether any body can help, are the engine mount positions the same for gs gsx gsxr read a few things but no definitive answer ie removed a gsxr 750 engine out of a bike and looking to place either a gs750 or a 550 into the chassis I know your all going to say backward step but have a good reason and if their is any body close to me in the uk with crankcase,s for a quick measure all the better thanks paul

    You will have to fabricate new engine mounts.

      What bike are you taking the gsxr engine out of

        If you are taking a gsxr engine out of a GS frame and putting in a GS engine then all you need is the factory mount plates. Typically the gsxr install into a GS fram is fabricated plates, usually no frame mods to the mounting areas.

        What GS model frame and year did you remove the gsxr engine from?
        1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head :cool:
        1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D

        I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.
