    850 gear change

I'm debateing as to whether to buy a gs 850 g with a gearchange issue, she'll go into gear, however the gear change lever doesn't return to the mid position, i wonder whether there's a return spring or similar broken, or is it likely to be a major repair job; many thanks Robbie

Sometimes it's as simple as a clutch cover gasket that's too thin. This can allow the clutch cover to contact the shift rod and bind.

In any case, the return mechanism is fairly easy to access and quite simple.
