    1150 free valve spring length vs. service limit

    I bought a new/used head with about half the miles on my current one, lapped the valves checked the free spring length, all above the service limit.
    My question is the number/value for free valve spring length when new.

    I have one head with stock valves springs and another with APE HD springs, both are used and both are above service limits by .6mm.
    Are new springs much taller than that?
    I'm thinking just running the stock springs since they're above the service limit, but wonder if it would be better to use the HD springs that are also above the
    service limit, but I don't know how much that is.
    This on a 3mm overbore from stock. Any insight appreciated.

    Depends on the cams & rpm you run. Stock cams & stock rev limit, stock springs. Non stock on cams or rev limit, better springs. Simple as that. Or you can ignore my experience & play valve float roulette!!!

      Stock cams with variable rpm or whatever a trackday does, probably more throttle twisting in all gears then on the street.
      Just use the stock springs then it sounds like. Thanks for the advice.
