    Clutch lost all power

Hi guys, I am new to the Japanese bikes and love the GS650E that I have.

I wanted to see If some one has had a similar problem before tearing into the bike.

I put 70 miles or so on the motorcycle yesterday, down shifted from 5th gear to 3rd and clutch stopped engaging in all gears.
Bike has been running perfect with no slipping of the clutch and is full of oil.

    Thanks for

You'll have to pull the clutch cover. Put it on the side stand and you shouldn't lose any oil. Possible your hub nut came loose. Need a 1 1/4" socket (33mm ?) to tighten it.

Thanks for responding, nut is still on. Clutch basket and all discs look good. No cracks or chips any where. Bike only has 8100 original miles

"clutch stopped engaging in all gears"

to clarify.. You mean the engine was reving, but no power thru clutch/ transmission?

or, pulling in clutch hand lever does nothing?

Engine revs, no power through clutch and trans.
Clutch lever still engages pressure plate.

Try readjusting the clutch actuator mechanism on the left side. I had similar problems, from one day to the next it went from gripping well to a lot of slippage.
