Thanks. I'll look into 4into1. The best price I could find so far has been $13 each and $15 for postage.Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.
Present Stable includes:
'74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
'83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)

If Gabriel doesn't cover you I've got some 2.60's. It's best to stock up and plan your next adjustment while gathering shims. Take an inventory and get some smaller sizes than what you have now.Ed

Two questions, do these valves ever get to the point of no more necessary adjusting?
If so, what mileage might that be?Larry

A well taken care of big GS bike will run 100k miles or more. Problem is, many don't take care of things like valve adjustment and when the valves sink, the clearance goes to zero, and when that happens the valves hang open and burn. Valve seats can overheat and crack too.Ed

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

Big Jay from APE said that when the KZ1000 police heads come in for service they tip the valves to bring them back to OEM height. Sometimes, he said, that results in the valve keepers sticking up above the end of the valve, and when that occurs, they trim back the keepers too. Good fun.Ed
