    Copper Spray-A-Gasket® Hi-Temp Sealant

Has anyone used this or similar on a head or base gasket?
Was thinking of trying it,but think by the time I get cyl block in place it will already have dried.

    Does that matter anyone know?

    Thanks

I've used it on my turbo trucks, it works quite well for holding boost with stock gaskets. Just use it like five minutes before you put the head on.

It remains tacky for quite a long time. It will get on your fingers and everything you touch afterwards, but don't worry about a need to rush, take your time and do it right.

I use it on my embossed shim head gaskets on my small block Chevy. Works great.

          It's a great product, but completely unnecessary for assembling a G S motor .

Assemble everything dry, maybe some grease on the valve cover gasket

I used hi-build aluminium spray paint on the base gasket of the 850 three summers back.
It was only after I had cleaned off the old gasket that I saw the gouge marks some of which were .020" deep.
As a precaution I applied the paint to both sides of the gasket. So far so good, dry as a bone.
