'82 GS1100G Cam Chain
Who here has ever replaced a cam chain on an '83 GS1100G? If you read my intro thread, you heard about the rat-infested GS1100 I brought home. I ended up tearing the top end apart to inspect for damage, and in doing so had to break the cam chain. I grabbed a NOS cam chain from Bike Bandit and, lo and behold, it's endless. Now, I've installed riveted cam chains on other bikes, namely old Hondas, and never had a problem. There's no way to install the chain I just got without breaking the case apart and I really don't feel like doing that. I mean, I will if I absolutely have to, but still... Do any of you know of any master link/rivet-style cam chains for this thing?196X BSA Frankenbike Project Firebolt

I've got about 3500 miles on a pressed link cam chain that I bought from Z1 enterprises. They sell the chain and link.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9zH8w8Civs8ejBJWjdvYi1LNTg&resourcekey=0-hlJp0Yc4K_VN9g7Jyy4KQg&authuser=fussbucket_1%40msn.com&usp=drive_fs

Never heard of a pressed/riveted camchain break unless it was installed by a monkey.
I've totally lost count of the mileage I've done on chains I've replaced - no exaggeration, it's just not a thing to worry about.---- Dave
