1977 GS750 shifter stuck
I recently replaced my clutch springs on my 1977 GS750 now the shifter seems to be stuck. I think it's in 1st or 2nd gear. Shifted fine before. I tried rocking the bike back and forth and running it for a while letting the oil heat up but it still wont budge.Tags: None

Looks like you may have the clutch release mechanism back incorrectly see https://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gs750-1...l#.XYZex9HTWhA
Have a look at the manual for the correct setup http://zeus.mtsac.edu/~cliff/storage...arly8valve.pdf
Failing that what springs did you fit Oem or heavy duty if heavy duty they may have caused the clutch cable to stretch. Whatever try adjusting the cable.Last edited by fastbysuzuki; 09-21-2019, 01:50 PM.The big guy up there rides a Suzuki (this I know)

Another thing I've seen is that a thinner aftermarket clutch cover gasket can cause the clutch cover to bind against the end of the shift shaft.
There's a little nubbin on the inside of the clutch cover that is supposed to keep the shifter shaft from sliding to the right. It's supposed to have a bit of clearance. The OEM gasket is fairly thick, but some cheapo aftermarket gaskets are thinner. You can install a correct gasket, or if you're in a big hurry because you need the bike to escape the zombies or something, grind down the nubbin a little.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
