Don't remember any Suzuki with gold eng. Only thing, I think remember, is the Kawasaki "Spectre" models, I'm pretty sure some of them had gold eng.

Suzuki engines were all silver until '83, when they were painted black.

Gas leaked from the carbs and yellowed the silver paint.

whats the best way to get grime n crud off my engine, should i strip the paint or will it look ugly and ill have to repaint it. dont want to repaint just clean well so it looks nice. will be taking off breather and valve cover so i can get in better spots while they're off. carbs and exhaust are also off at the moment.

                  Ridges? You mean cooling fins?

Q-tips, sometimes held by needle-nose pliers.

I put WD40 on the q-tips? The cooling fins on mine is covered by something gooey (gas? oil?). I want them clean again. Its not all over, mostly on the left side (right if you stand infront) under the carbs and under the seam where the top cooling fin thing is attached to the middle or bottom cooling fin thing.
