GS1100G engine bolts
Trying to remove he engine from the frame and the bottom front and rear main bolts are giving me issues. I have managed to free both nuts but the bolts are stuck solid. I have snapped the head off the rear bolt and am now attempting to drift it out. Please tell me it’s not threaded through the frame or engine, and that I just need a bigger hammer.Tags: None

Not threaded to the engine. Some penetrating oil may help, and you might want to use a jack under the engine to support it and take load off the bolts before trying to push them out.Ed
To measure is to know.

Kroil or ATF & solvent are both good "creepers".
All good advice, I did one recently. It's open on the bottom from memory so that part tends to rust & water can get into & oxidize where it passes the case. Use some grease when you put it back in (I use the waterproof blue stuff from Maxima or BelRay in that application).1980 GS1000G - Sold

What a nightmare, managed to remove but had to drill them out in the end. Only positive was I found out how many blunt drills I own. IMG_20200410_170805.jpg
