THe GS700 I believe is a plain bearing crank and should have higher oil pressure than the roller bearing bikes. It will also be way less tolerant of low oil pressure. Get one of these and hook up a guage. https://www.summitracing.com/search/...e-2/14mm-x-1-5 Note: I am assuming the GS700 is like the other bikes and has this plug on the side of the motor. Check before spending money.

I can't thank you enough Mr. Grimly and everyone else that has chimed in, I have learned a lot from this site, so much so that I rarely have to ask anything. I can't wait to get back in the shop in the morning and hopefully get this figured out. At present, I have the oil filter out and all of the oil drained, I'm going to pick up some more oil and probably another filter in the morning as I don't want to reuse the new oil I drained today, it wasn't too bad but still had a slight odor of gas and appeared to be thinned out a bit. Hopefully it helped to remove any residual gas that may have been left inside.. It makes me sick this even happened but it's another opportunity to learn more I reckon..

Again, I appreciate all of the advice more than you know.. I will update and/or have more questions tomorrow.

I will check, seems it would be a good idea regardless should any future issues arise.. Thank you sir.

The oil pump is behind the clutch in the usual Suzuki position. It is possible - with the clutch cover off and the clutch basket out- to put a drill on the pump shaft and prime that way.Note that the crank rotates clockwise as you look at that side, the clutch anti-clockwise and the pump will therefore rotate clockwiseI'd do it that way given the amount of doubt about the oil in this one. Oil light should go out quite quickly. The plain bearing motors don't like a lack of oil....

Thank you sir, I do not want to risk any damage to this thing for sure. This may be a stupid question, but how much oil should I have in it to do this? I've already drained it and have the oil filter out, I plan on going with fresh oil and another new filter..

Pull the clutch while it's empty. Replace the filter. Full amount of oil - with the bike leaned to the left so as not to spill oil.Once the light's out, replace the clutch and button up the side cover.

Thank you sir, I apologize for the delayed update but, life... Anyhow, I finally got back to the bike yesterday, in looking at the parts fische for my bike last week, I noticed an o-ring that went into an opening from the sump cover to the bottom of the engine that I did not know was there, hmm.. Since I did not recall seeing one when I removed the sump cover originally, I ordered a new one along with a Caltric stator, SH775AA regulator, and the Triumph harness.

I finally got back to the bike yesterday, I pulled the sump cover back off and checked that o-ring, it was still there but was as flat as a piece of paper, replaced that o-ring, put everything back together, went ahead and changed the stator, and added new oil to it (again). I let it sit overnight last night to make sure I didn't have any oil leaks and to assure the oil would fill any open cavities (probably unnecessary but just for piece of mind)..

Started 'er up just a few minutes ago to see if the oil light went off, lo and behold, roughly 6 seconds into running, the oil light (and side stand light) went off, no priming involved !!!!!!!! I can hardly contain myself !!!! Now to change the regulator and wait on my harness to plug 'er in !! Thanks everyone, y'all are awesome !!!!

So, you ran it a tad with gas in the oil? Sir, you have given your engine a good flushing! I've flooded my crankcase a couple of times over the years. It's really clean in there and no harm has ever shown up. Just change the oil out properly.
