Looking for new crank and rod bearings for 85 550E

cant find any,,, .. was lookinf for a kit... containing main and rod bearings, rings, etc... I got gaskets already

any idea where i can find this?

You can't. There are no kits.

The bearings are color coded so you need to order from a dealership source and get the appropriate type.

Hope you bought OEM gaskets. Aftermarket "kits" tend to be poor quality, particularly Athena or no name kits.

    Good luck

EDIT: checked Partzilla.com and it seems the bearings are not available anymore. You may have to get the PN's and then search ebay. That may be an issue.

Colour coded for sizing. Why do they all need replacement? They show as unavailable but if you have done all the measurements to see what size ( colour ) you need then you can be sneaky and copy paste the appropriate part number into google.

One assumes you have done the measurements indicated in the OEM manual starting at section 3-48

just one set I think. and iirc cheap at 7 GBP

This undertaking will cost a great deal of time and money to the extent you may be wise in searching for a machine that died from sitting as a donor engine source.

i can probablty get by without changing the mains and rod bearings. i was just thinking to change them if i end up splitting the cases. thanks

Don't assume they are bad. There is a good chance you can reuse them unless something happened to the engine.
