    Replacing instrument panel 83 GSX750ES

    Hi, first post here

I've stripped the fairing off my ES, and changed the square headlamp to a smaller set of dual lights. Looks a lot better, but I really need to get that square instrument panel changed to a set of nice clocks.
Does anyone know if I can get a panel off a more streetish GSX and use the same square connector for the wiring? Really don't want to get into breaking up that connector into individual wires.

I doubt seriously if you will ever be able to use the new guages with the old connector. I scrapped my connector. You will be surprised how many wires you won't be using with the GSXR guages.

Hmm, I have taken a picture but have no webspace available so I can't put it up. Anyway, it looks bad now as the instrument panel is smashed because some punks seem to love toppling my bike over. But I'd love to
show it off once I get the panel changed.

So you guys are saying that I should just loose the connector and go for connecting individual wires? I guess that makes sense, don't really need all those indicators anyway except for the neutral indicator which is nice.
I can buy a panel from a GS650 Katana -84 which I think looks a bit better. Any thoughts on that?

There are alot of free hosts for pics out there. The GS Garage on MSN Groups, Photobucket, Imageshack. I like the setup on Photobucket, they set up the tags for you to link to them pics in BB Forum code (like this one uses) HTML links and one other I can't remember because I never use. Just copy and paste 'em

OK thanks, here's a first pic, will post more after I change the panel. Went for the easy route and took the GSX1100EF panel.

Hmmm...how does that Dual-Light setup work?
Does it install as simply as it sounds?

I'm thinking you just split the wires that went to the original light and run it to both of the new ones?

Also, does it run down the battery since there are 2 now?

Well, it's simpler than you think really. The dual lights come as a kit and only have one wire just like my old headlight did. So there's no need to split wires or anything like that. Haven't noticed any additional battery drain either. I've changed the panel today to the GSX1100EF one, looks slightly better than my old one but not really the look I was going for. Well, at least the connector was the same.

From the 'better late than never dept.'; How 'bout a Bandit set of clocks?
                      I was contemplating that swap,myself.

Like to know how your panel switch goes, have wanted to do the same thing with my bike.
