I saw an idea in "The Horse" and I've kinda taken that idea and drawn out a paintscheme for my bike. pretty simple, but it looked good, one side of the bike one color, one side of the bike another, split right down the middle. The one I saw was white and black, but I'm going to be using silver and red. 8)

I'm in the midst of repainting mine myself right now. I decided on a metallic burgundy base coat, and then black and silver flames airbrushed onto the tank (which a friend will do for me, since I have -zilch- artistic talent.) SHOULD look pretty sharp when it's all done.

The side panels are already the metallic burgundy, and I absolutely love the color/look.

On my black Virago I put red pinstripe flames.

It didn't look bad at all.

What I want to do with my cafe project (probably this winter too much time working on the Kat) is a black base with a dark grey or gunmetal flame job, I have seen it once and it is amazing. very sublte yet beautiful at the right distance.

I am also a fan of "tear away" paint jobs where it looks like the "top" color is peeling off to reveal the bottom color. That really looks better on a full blown sportbike though. I plan on doing a red to white to black tearaway on my katana.

I have a '79 750L and this winter I plan on stripping it and repainting it. The scheme I have devised is dark metal flake blue with silver tribal graphics. I haven't decided if I want to leave the badges off and fill the holes or if I want to refinish the badges and leave them on.
