    Coating for wheels

Does anyone have experience with blast cleaned wheels? I am cleaning off the corrosion and flaking original faded coating and wonder if leaving the alluminum spoke webs and hub areas uncoated will cause problems. I really like the look of of the wheels in the as blasted condition and would like to keep this if it will hold up. Anyone done this? Thanks, Ray

Aluminum being a metal will oxidize just like steel, only the oxidation takes the form of a whitish colour.

Correct...Use an clear sealer like R-M Diamont DS30. Then spray on you're favorite two part clear. The DS30 will kill a bit of the gloss but if you're spraying it over the blasted area, you won't even notice...
