I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to differ with some people here. That's not just pretty hot; that's really really damn hot. That's an awesome job, and an inspiration to me, though I've been taking a slightly different route to it. I really like that rear cowling. It finishes something that'd be otherwise unfinished.

Cool looking man. Thats somewhat what I have in mind for my 81 1100E:
I'm thinking of chopping the back end, making a solo saddle and cowl like you have, and upgrade the front and rear to modern rubber and shocks. I'm gonna use the tank and side covers still- I may even use the existing rear cowl, just lose the little extenders for it and make it a one seater. I'll use the headlight and gauge pod from an 83 model- I obviously like that look! Of course this is all after I buy a new cam chain, clutch and new rings and hone, and do all the valve seals, replace second gear, weld and balance the crank.... uggg. I got a long way to go.
Anyway, really like the look of that 1000 shafty, man! Keep us posted with your progress, I'm interested in what you come up with for a seat. You obviously aren't afraid to tackle the cosmetics!Currently bikeless

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.

Pardon my ignorance if I come across that way, I am not used to working on bikes.
What did you do for the seat and the tank?

The Original seat Has been put aside and I made a base plate out of 3mm alloy, and I will hand that over to the upholsterers to fashion a seat for me,I had to make a new cowling as the one in the photo and the others that i made do not have any way of fixing the back padding to, I thought that they might have glued the padding but that is not the way they do it.
as soon as I figure out how to post more than 1 photo,I will show all my project photos.
