I don't see anything that says E. I see a badge that says GS1100, DOHC 16 Valves. I have a GS1100, with Dual overhead cams and 16 valves.

Well I'm not decided yet. I might instead get the GS1100L emblem from 82 or 83. It is all chrome instead of red and chrome and looks cleaner IMO

Original GS1100L emblems
Hello J_C,
I too have a 1980 L (16 valves and all ) and I kind of like the original emblems. I would be interested if you would like to get rid of yours. Just to clarify, are yours red and chrome or red and gold?

They're red and chrome.... Are the replacements gold???
I'm not quite to cosmetic issues yet, but I will definetely let you know.

Well...the base color depended upon the color scheme of the bike. For example, my L is Red and they used gold for the emblems - I don't know what color your bike is, but I think the black bike may have used chrome emblems. The original emblems with the red GS letters (68131-49110) are not available anymore - I think it was used for only 1 or 2 years. The current replacement is either all gold (68131-49130) or all chrome. Also, the new version does not use the multi-line font on the "1100" portion of the emblem as did the original. The newer one still has the script L, albeit slightly smaller in proportion to the rest of the characters.Last edited by Guest; 06-03-2006, 07:47 PM.
