    GS1100GK seat

I have a 1982 GS1100GK that I love. Does anyone still make an aftermarket seat for this bike? I see Corbin has one for a 1982 GS1100E. Will this fit? I emailed Corbin and have not heard anything from them. I would like a lower and more comfortablew seat. Thanks, Arnie

The seat for the GS1100E won't fit the GK.

A seat meant for the 82 or 83 GS850G or GS1100G will also fit any GK. Make sure it's not meant for the "L" model of these bikes.

I have a custom seat on my GK, made by Diamond Custom Seats in Florida. The seat is now in its 6th riding season, and it's still in excellent shape, giving good support. I sent them my pan and they built the seat, with velour top, on the pan to my specifications, such as weight, inseam length, and whether I carry a passenger, etc. Wasn't cheap, but well worth it in the long run. Go to http://www.diamondseats.com/ . About a month turnaround time.

The seat is high, since I have long legs and a lot of weight.

Another option is find a good reputable upholstery shop.
Ask them to refoam the seat, they can cut it down, as in lower
the seat height. Or add foam to raise the seat height.

I had my stock GS1000S seat re-foamed a few years ago.
He used triple density foam, very comfy, and it was about $100.
Worth the money and again, if it's a good shop they'll work with you.

Arnie, I also am looking for a seat for a GS1100GZ. I'm pretty sure your GK seat will fit. If you replace yours and Nomad doesn't want it, please let me know. My seat pan is toast. Thanks.

Saddelmans seat covers web site lists 2 types of seats for the gk, a double saddle and an LTD style. I would like to order the ltd style as I think the saddle is kind of ugly. here is the site address.

It is $134.00 and includes new foam. What are your thoughts. Has any one purchased on of these? My GK is MINT except for the seat. At 31200 miles it is too soft and strating to crack, but I'm not sure what this seat will look like. Any one have input? thanks

There are no pictures on this site. They have a kit for foam/cover and the pan? Mines is very rusted. Is this a full seat replacement. Has anyone got a pan from these guys?

My brother has a Corbin from his 1100G. He changed it out for a '83 1100G stock seat, which is perhaps not as ugly, but not as comfortable in my opinion.

He may be willing to part with it.

                PM me if interested.
