    Project Skunk almost finished!!

She's in for paint! I went by the body shop today to check on the progress... blocked and ready for color! I was hoping it would be ready before the Western States Get-together.... it will be close, but she might be done. The painter said he might work this weekend. He has had the parts for about two months. I put a fire under his arse today. Here's what it looked like today:

Ok,ok. I worked really hard to decide. This is what I came up with: If suzuki were to build a skunk today, what would they use? That's what I'm going after. It'll still be a skunk, but updated. Kind of like my 550.
I'm using a late model GM charcoal metallic, and a late model GM white/gold pearl.
The frame will be powder coated black.

            What are you doing?

Well, I actually have two complete sets of body parts getting painted. The first to be done will be skunked. Black with blue pearl and white pearl stripe. I never liked the gold and tomato red pin stripes on the original skunk, so we are going to use blue and white painted pin stripes.

The second set will be the same blue and white colors from my 1150 in a unique scheme. I'm having them painted now (soon) so I can run with two colors if I want! But the second set will ulimately be for my new 1000 project, which will have a silver powder-coated frame and black engine.

Have you looked at the "smoked chrome" color powdercoat?
A buddy of mine is re-doing a 70 something Z1. He had his powdercoated that color. The frame is awesome! I don't know if you shoot, but it looks like those special Colt Pythons they made in the mid '90's. Cool color. 8-)

That would be cool! I haven't checked into the powdercoating yet. That project is down the road a few months. I've got to get this one finished first! I'm down to paint, SS brake lines, and I need to do something with the wheels.

                    Closer!!
The black with blue pearl looked a little bland. So we added some gold and lavender pearl also. Looks good! Some pin striping, more clear, and she's done!\\/

Still waiting for the paint shop to be done.:-| He has promised to have my stuff done this week. In the meantime, the bike has been washed and is ready! All clean and covered up in the garage. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa Claus.
