Heh, no it looks like you are missing a case screw right over the shifter I need to replace one of mine too.

I know the pegs may fold funny then, but who cares really?
if it really bugged you, they're probably far enough back to to not interfear with the kick start, so you could just pin them in place in a fixed possition.
if you try it, let us know how it works out.

Actually, swapping the L/R was my first idea. Took both of them off and, lo and behold, the spacing between the bolts was different!!! So they don't fit on the opposite sides.
My bike doesn't have a kickstart, and I'm really bummed out about that.
LOL - I guess I DO have a few screws loose!

voilà! insta rear set pegs.
of course I could be missing something completely obvious if I was there in person, but in the arena of my mind it works perfectly!

A pic is hopefully worth 1,000 words so please excuse the rushed photochop:
I wouldn't have to swap anything, just make new plates - from the original mounting points to the passenger mounts. Then I could move the footpegs whereever I wanted and then I could flip/shorten the shifter.

Brake side, however would be more complicated... guess I should figure that out...Last edited by Guest; 09-20-2006, 11:26 PM.

the passanger pegs have a nice feel to their location (if you use clubman bars) and the brake is gonna be the "hardest" part, but I think i have that solved with some linkage and a hole in the stock brake lever.
but my primary focus is to get it running right now. so we'll see.

My latest addition to the GS Cafe... a NOS set of Jardine slipons.
They are really no louder than the stock exhaust, nor did I get any noticable performance gaines (maybe just a tiny bit in the upper RPMs), but they are considerably shorter than stock and smaller diameter. I like'em!
It leaned it out just a tiny bit. So little, that I really don't think I'm gonna be making any carb adjustments. It just runs too good to screw with it.
Now I'm debating on selling off my stock exhaust. I really don't see ever using them again for as long as I own the bike. Decisions, decisions....
Still gotta do something with the ugly seat though. Ugg.
