Any idea what GS this handlebar pad fits?

I received this handlebar pad in a parts lot a while back and have no idea what bike it goes on. It is the same size as the one on my '79 GS850G. This one has wires coming from it and when I connected it to my battery tender lead, it has a red light to the left of the Suzuki logo?? It looks to have a light behind the Suzuki logo and to the right of the logo also, but I cannot get them to light up.

I have searched through a few parts diagrams and cannot find anything with a light? Anyone know if this is a stock part, or do you think someone made it "custom" by adding the lights?

When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

Never remember seeing anything like that on a GS, so my guess is Home made

Thanks! Are the lights supposed to be on all the time?

Yes, my "80" GS1000G had the pad, but it positively had no lights in it.

That definitely looks like a "home-made haircut" to me. The light on the right is slightly off center, and the edges look like someone tried to create a sort of countersink but not very well...

            Photos of the back?

My 1981 GS850G and GS1000G both have that handlebar pad, but without the lights.

The ring lug does not look like OEM Suzuki, and that earth wire should be black with a white stripe if the wiring was OEM. It looks like a previous owner added the lights, and it would be interesting to know what their purpose was.

Deffo home-made and possibly wired to a charge warning circuit or perhaps a coffee maker. Who knows.
