After I had done a rattle can job on my bike I wet sanded or color sanded it smooth. First I started with 1500 grit paper then finished with 2000 grit. Then I used 3m polish for dark colored cars to bring it to a high shine with a perfectly smooth finish. I did that since the spray nozzle on the rattle can cannot lay a very good coat.

Also all of the good paint shops will always finish with a final wet sand to get that perfectly smooth show car finish.

You could sand it down with some 600 or 1000 grit and re-clear, or do as adam suggested and sand with 1500 followed by 2000 and buff to a shine. Even if you sand and re-clear you may still have to color sand and buff to get the best shine possible.

If you color sand and buff you want to start with some kind of "rubbing compound" and then finish with a "polish" do not use "wax" or "sealer" on fresh paint!!! The terminology "rubbing compound" and "polish" are pretty standard. You should be able to find them anywhere automotive parts are sold (flaps, k-mart, etc.)

I found the best place to get the 3m products are from paint shops or a napa auto parts store.

Go to an automotive paint supply store. They have everything you need.
