Shot the base coat on the tank....I'll clear coat everything as all at once when everthing is ready to bolt back together.

Great Job!
Awesome job, bhppy! My seat pan is pretty rusty and hard to replace, and your step-by-step gives me a lot of hope if my pan is too far gone. I've always liked cafe style bikes, but I've been torn on restoring my GS750T or going cafe on it. Maybe I can do both. Thanks for the inspiration and good luck!

I wish I had a 750 Turbo to restore! I have been looking around for one with no luck!....One of these days!....lol....I have too many projects as it is...lol.Last edited by Guest; 11-07-2006, 04:25 AM.

Thanks for those shots man. So basically you make a flat panel in the shape of the piece you made before to mount your actual seat to?

I used 3M spray contact adhesive (you can get this at most hardware stores)
I will spray the top of the foam and the bottom of my vinyl....let it dry for a few minutes and stretch my vinyl over my seat pan.

OK....please excuse the mess in the garage and on the bike....lol.. but heres a quick pics of my project. I'll water her down and take some more pics of it later....There is just too much dust on it to make it look decent.

Thanks!!
I wish I could find some wire wheels that are a direct bolt on with the same disc brake configuration. I think the KZ wheels will fit. I just don't want to lose the rear disc and the dual fronts.
