What tools are you using to polish that stuff? I have some wheels and compound for my bench grinder but its kind of hard to take that off the bench and polish stuff thats still on the bike haha.

But for the big pieces and the pieces I don't want to take off the bike....I use a sander/polisher with a buffing wheel attached to it....
I use white compound first....after sanding with 280...than 400 grit...
Than I finalize the polish off with red rouge compound.

Your Hawk is exactly what I want to do for a bike project...either a 550 or smaller (500 twin would rock) turned into a cafe / rat project. I want something that's opposite of the big 1100 to ride!
Wish you were closer to NC!

Cool thanks. I was thinking about trying to use my dad's Dewalt buffer with a different wheel on it.

Doesn't look too bad when you got it..I'd probably go the easy route and chop the rear and put drag or clubmans on it. Bodywork would be a winter project for me...
Wonder how much it costs to ship a bike from SoCal to NC?

This is the bike before I got it...but it didnt have that fairing on...The previous owner kept it stored in the garage for 5 years...he couldnt get it running. It was in great shape!!!
Same ol' problem with sitting bikes.... varnished carbs and plugged jets. I soaked the carbs and cleaned out the jets with a micro hobby drill bit when I got it home on sunday..... Later that evening...I put the carbs back together and added a new battery....Vrrrrooom....started right up!!
\\/
the bottom fairing is the one that I'm putting on it

I love what you've done to that bike. Very nice.

$300 to ship...that's fair.
How much do you sell your projects for on average? Any GSR member discounts available?
