    Seat covers/ travelcade and sargent

I have called both of these company's and looked at there websites about a seat cover for my GS1000E. I would like a cover that has a likeness to the original pattern sewn into the top of the cover. Sargent says they can't do it travelcade say there cover is a likeness to the original. Both company's offer no model specific pics of the covers. Has anyone here seen the travelcade cover for my bike? opinions are welcome. Thanks Dan

Travelcade makes the closest to original that you can get- other than something custom. I got one for my 81 1100E, it looked very standard. Not exactly OEM, but pretty close. Sargent covers tend to be more updated. My 81 1100E has one that I enjoy greatly, but does not look like stock.
Sorry, not a great pic of the seat:
    Currently bikeless
'81 GS 1100EX - "Peace, by superior fire power."
'06 FZ1000 - "What we are dealing with here, is a COMPLETE lack of respect for the law."

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.

Any good auto upholstery shop can custom make you a new one, from an exact copy to whatever you can design for cheap. They use the same materials as corben and sargent. I have also had gel inserted in the foam, while they were at it, for a more soothing ride.

B&H... just ordered from them and am expecting to receive it this week. Will let you know. Bwringer bought one and was happy so I went with his recommendation. Apparently they're extremely close to stock as well, though I chose to go with a more modern textured fabric. Will post back up when I get it

Rats! Mine came and there's a problem with it. I guess B&H thought I wouldn't want to use my key anymore, since the leather covers up the keyhole. The stock cover has a hole there so you can do the important things, like locking your seat on the bike and being able to take it off. Looks like I'm going to have to send it back

It looks like it's made well. It didn't exactly turn out the way I thought it would, but I'm sure if I actually fitted it correctly (Using glue on the foam etc) it would look better. Time to find out what kind of customer service B&H has.

Sigh. 3 posts in a row. I'm only posting for the record.

Called B&H... they said they don't cut key holes since there's no way for them to line it up without the seat pan. So apparently it's up to me to do it. I'm going to try and install it tonight, and then I'll try the advice they give me.

Otherwise, the seat cover has really grown on me as its been sitting on the carpet. I'm hoping to get it installed tonight.

                For the record.

Having to do some minor custom fitting is normal.
